Karla Mills
Executive Vice President and Chief Project Development Officer
Karla Mills, P. Eng. was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Project Development Officer in 2024, with responsibility for accelerating growth by advancing Teck’s project delivery.
Ms. Mills joined Teck in 2013 as Program Manager, Water Treatment Projects. She was appointed Program Director, Water Treatment Projects, in 2017 and then Vice President, Project Development, in 2018, following nearly a year as Acting Vice President, Project Development. She previously held the position of Senior Vice President, Projects.
Ms. Mills brings to the role more than 25 years of project development experience, including 16 years with Wardrop Engineering and then Tetra Tech Mining and Minerals, where she held numerous progressively more senior roles in project, portfolio and corporate leadership.
Ms. Mills graduated with a B.Sc. in Geological Engineering from the University of Manitoba and has a Masters Certificate in Project Management from York University and is a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of British Columbia. Ms. Mills is a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM) Capital Projects Steering Committee and a former Chair of Mining for Miracles (2019-2022).
