Teck Chile’s photography contest provides an opportunity for employees to express individuality and talent behind the camera.
Last year, a call went out to employees in Chile to safely capture images related to their daily work and to show how our operations interact with the environment.
The contest was a hit among employees—over 150 photographs were submitted from across operations and offices in Chile. After a rigorous selection process, taking into account photo composition, quality, lighting and more, 13 winning images were selected. The top four winners received a semi-professional camera, and all 13 winners received a bronze mining lamp. The photos will also be featured in the 2021 Teck Chile calendar.
Take a look at some of the winning photos and employee photographers here.

Marcelo Ojeda, Mine Operator, Heavy Equipment, Quebrada Blanca, won first place with his photograph, “Mining activity co-existing with fauna”.

Manuel Claro, Senior Environmental Specialist, QB2, won second place with his photograph, “Metharme Lanata at sunset in the Pampa”.

Miguel Vargas, Reliability Engineer, Carmen de Andacollo, won third place with his photograph, “The last one out turns off the light”.
