Health and Safety of our Products

The PSC reviews new applications and uses of our products in order to assess transportation and handling, packaging and labeling, safety and health, and life cycle stewardship aspects. A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is prepared for each product and provided to customers. Each MSDS is periodically reviewed and updated as required.

Teck manages compliance with regulations and voluntary codes concerning the health and safety impacts of our products utilizing a Product Stewardship System. Under this system, we track compliance with applicable regulations and voluntary codes. In 2007 we had zero incidents of non-compliance, defined as “court judgment or fines,” to Safety and Health regulatory codes.

In each of the following life cycle stages, health and safety impacts of products are assessed:
