HR1 Percentage and total number of significant investment agreements that include human rights clauses or that have undergone human rights screening. To date we have not been active in areas of ‘significant concern’ but we are responding to the possibility of this changing as the company grows. We've made a commitment to human rights but we have not implemented human rights clauses and screening as a standard. Currently, sites integrate their own human rights clauses related to site specific potential human rights concerns (for example, Red Dog mine would include the consideration of subsistence issues factored into partnership agreements). Therefore, the data is not available from all Operations but we will look to report on this in the medium term.
HR2 Percentage of significant suppliers and contractors that have undergone screening on human rights and actions taken. Teck is committed to integrating human rights and expect suppliers to align with our policies and Management Standards. We currently do not screen our suppliers on human rights, therefore the data is not available but we will look to report on it as we develop and implement a more robust human rights strategy in the medium term.
HR4 Total number of incidents of discrimination and actions taken. There were no incidents of descrimination.

HR9 Total number of incidents of violations involving rights of indigenous people and actions taken. We have a number of preventative measures in place to avoid incidents of violations against indigenous peoples. These measures include environmental impact assessments which specifically consider indigenous interests through mechanisms including traditional knowledge studies and impact benefit agreements. There is however, one on-going significant issue with indigenous peoples and Teck. The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation in Washington State have filed a complaint in Federal District Court seeking natural resource damages and response costs. The Tribe's legal action is outlined in the You Asked We Answered section of the report. The Company’s U.S. affiliate, Teck American Incorporated is conducting a remedial investigation and feasibility study under an agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. If those studies show that our past discharge practices pose a risk to human health or the environment, Teck has committed to responsibly address those risks.
